Attending Triage

One support partner can accompany each woman when they are being assessed in Triage. On arrival a midwife will complete an initial assessment. Sometimes a further assessment with a doctor may be needed.

If at any time your symptoms get worse whilst waiting to be seen, please alert a member of Triage staff.

Our Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS) supports women who have concerns about their or their baby’s wellbeing and are less than 16 weeks pregnant. Patients are referred for pain and bleeding and referrals are made by GP, midwife, Emergency Department or Gynaecology Emergency Assessment Area. Patients can also self-refer if they have been seen by EPAS in the current pregnancy, have had a previous ectopic pregnancy, or have had three recurrent miscarriages.
