SaTH Charity recently supported the Professional Nurse/Midwifery/AHP Advocate Team (PNAs) to create a comfortable ‘safe space’ to facilitate Restorative Clinical Supervision sessions for our colleagues working at Princess Royal Hospital.

Previous feedback from some of the team highlighted the difficulties in finding a suitable and comfortable place to meet with members of staff away from their place of work to talk openly and confidentially. The PNA Team provide staff space for confidential, nonjudgemental reflective conversations, helping colleagues process some of the thoughts they may be having relating to their work and/or home life.

Professional Advocates are that ‘listening ear’ whilst guiding colleagues through reflective thinking. Where necessary, PNAs can signpost for further support in which a staff member may not have considered.
Karen, Professional Nurse Advocate Lead said “The generosity from SaTH Charity, and the ‘Small Things Make a Big Difference’ fund, helped our team to purchase a coffee table and two chairs making the room more comfortable and less sterile. We hope to create the same space at RSH in the future.”

Julia Clarke, Director of Public Participation said “SaTH Charity are very happy to support the PNA Team with items to create a space for staff to have reflective conversations. The Small Things Big Difference Fund is funded by the staff lottery and is our only fund which exclusively benefits staff and I think this is a great use of this Fund as the aim is to provide grants for staff to buy the Small Things that make a Big Difference to their working life which I believe this will.”
