Five hundred runners will take to the streets of Shrewsbury next weekend to celebrate 70 years of the NHS.
At the end of the race, which will begin at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital at 10.30am on Saturday 7 July, all of the runners will be presented with a medal, goodie bag and a SaTH Charity T-shirt at the end of the race.
The T-shirts have been sponsored by SJ Roberts Homes, which has over 30-years experience of building high quality new homes including its current development at Sweetlake Meadow in Shrewsbury.
Mike Sambrook, Managing Director of SJ Roberts Construction, said: “This year is a momentous year for the NHS and we were really excited to be part of our local acute hospital Trust’s plans to celebrate the 70th anniversary.
“Everyone at some point in their lives has benefited from the wonderful organisation that is the NHS and we wanted to do our bit to say thank you to everyone involved with our two acute hospitals.”
Julia Clarke, Director of Corporate Governance at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, said: “I am very grateful to Mike and everyone at the SJ Roberts Homes for their support and look forward to seeing people wearing their T-shirts on the day.”
Entries for the event, which is being organised in partnership with the Dolly Mixtures, is now full but everyone is welcome to come and watch the run, which starts at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital at 10.30am on Saturday 7 July.
The Fun Run will then be followed by a Charity Fun Day that will include: a barbecue, live music, children’s activities and an array of fun-filled stalls.
All of the money raised from the Fun Day and the Fun Run will go to SaTH Charity’s Living Well With Dementia Appeal and the End of Life Care Swan Fund.
