The stars of the Shrewsbury pantomime Mother Goose have drawn the winning tickets in this year’s annual League of Friends of the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital Christmas Raffle Draw.
Victoria McCabe and Matt Dallen, who star as Jill and Billy Goose in the Theatre Severn Christmas extravaganza, joined member of the League of Friends’ Fundraising Committee for the draw at Shrewsbury’s Theatre Severn.
Richard Lawn, Executive Chairman of the Friends, said, “The League of Friends Christmas Raffle has become something of a tradition, but one that continues to bring good tidings to the patients of the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and SaTH.
“Since spending £1m on the MRI scanner, we have continued buying much more needed equipment – another £300,000 in the last nine months – so we hope the traditional generosity of people buying our raffle tickets will continue.”
Susan Hurdiss, Organising Secretary for the Friends, expressed her huge thanks to everyone who supported the draw, and in helping to raise extra funds for the purchase of vital hospital equipment, all which helps to improve patient care and save more lives.
“We are very lucky to receive the continued support from so many kind and generous people of Shropshire and Mid Wales,” said Susan.
“Over the last seven years Theatre Severn has been proud to support the League of Friends Christmas Draw, and all the hard work they put into fundraising for the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.”
Julia Clarke, Director of Corporate Governance at SaTH, said: “We are incredibly grateful for all the fantastic support that we receive from The League of Friends of the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. Their donations make a huge difference, enabling us to purchase medical equipment that we would be unable to fund ourselves, to benefit our patients. We really are very fortunate.”
