Today many members of staff from our Trust have been at the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Saving Babies Lives Forward Planning event.
The event, organised by the Local Maternity System (LMS), included talks from leading experts within the field of preventing perinatal deaths – including Professor Alex Heazell, Professor of Obstetrics and Director of the Tommy’s Research Centre, Manchester (pictured).
Information about reducing risk, empowering parents and the positive impact that research can have was shared, before attendees from a wide variety of backgrounds broke off into groups to talk about a five-year action plan.
Nicola Wenlock, Director of Midwifery at SaTH, said: “The day has given us the opportunity to bring together key stakeholders including those working in and with maternity services such as midwives, doctors, health visitors, healthy lifestyle advisors and women who have recently used maternity services in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin, to develop our five-year plan to help us continue our progress towards the national ambition of improving maternity and neonatal outcomes.
“A collaborative event such as this with multiple stakeholders, is crucial to developing an evidence-based family focused service.”
