Entries are now open for The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust’s 5K Fun Run to celebrate the birth of the NHS.
The event, which is being organised in partnership with the Dolly Mixtures Running Group, starts at 9.30am on Saturday 6 July at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
Entry costs £10 and all the money raised will go to SaTH Charity’s Living Well With Dementia Appeal.
Karen Breese, Clinical Specialist Nurse for Dementia at SaTH, said: “The money raised supports our dementia team to provide key elements of the service not funded through the NHS and makes a massive difference to our patients and their families.”
Karen, who is a keen runner and an active member of the Dolly Mixtures, added: “This year’s run will follow a different route from last year and will start and end within the hospital grounds. I have ran it a few times already and am certain that people will really enjoy it.”

Spaces are limited to 500 runners/walkers and all entrants will receive a goodie bag and a medal.
The conclusion of the Fun Run will mark the start of SaTH’s annual Charity Fun Day.
It follows a hugely successful event held last year by SaTH to mark the 70th birthday of the NHS, which raised more than £6,000 for SaTH Charity, SaTH’s Living Well with Dementia appeal and the Trust’s Swan Fund for End of Life Care.
This year’s event will follow a similar format to last year, with details of confirmed attractions to be announced soon.
