Do you want to do something to help one of the charities and organisations that benefits patients at SaTH?
Well here is your opportunity. Once more the Shropshire Star has teaming up with Enterprise Flex-E-Rent to give away £20,000 to good causes, and on Thursday announced the 35 groups that have been selected to receive a share of the prize fund.
Each of the groups featured will get a share of the cash – but how much they get is up to you. All you have to do is collect tokens as they are printed in the Shropshire Star and send them on to your chosen group.
The more tokens a group receives, the more cash they will get. And your efforts really will make a difference. The group that collected the most tokens last year walked away with a fantastic £5,000, allowing it to buy crucial new equipment.
Once again, the top prize is £5,000, with the organisation that comes second getting £2,000, and the one in third place receiving £1,000. The other 32 groups will receive a share of the remaining £12,000 based on the total number of tokens they collect.
The 35 groups below were chosen after a painstaking selection procedure, out of a total of 105 groups that applied to take part in this year’s scheme:
Two charities that directly benefit SaTH are:
The Harry Johnson Trust
The Harry Johnson Trust provides support to children who are being treated for cancer at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford, as well as their families.
The charity was set up by Sally and Stephen Johnson following the death of their son Harry, aged just seven, in 2014.
Sally said the money would be used to buy vouchers for the children to enjoy days out to provide respite during treatments.
“These respite days provide a break from treatment, a little normality during a very difficult time, and enables families to spend much-needed time together as they are often apart during treatment for days on end,” she said.
“It will bring many smiles.”

Fundraising manager Lynne Stone, said: “We are planning to locate one of our blood bikes at a fire station in north Shropshire and need a dry, secure shed to house it.
