Safe staffing levels
At The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, ensuring we have the right number of staff with the right skills to be able to provide high quality safe care to all our patients is our key priority at all times. We already have a number of mechanisms in place to ensure our wards are safely staffed.
Accessing information about our staffing levels
Information about staffing levels will be published monthly on this page, and we will provide links to the Nursing & Midwifery Staffing papers discussed in public at our Trust Board meetings.
The Trust also undertakes a nursing and midwifery establishment review every six months, which can also be found in the Trust Board minutes.
How are we doing?
Full information about our nursing and midwifery staffing levels on each of our wards is published in our Staffing Data (see blue “useful downloads” box). This information is also available on The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust hospitals profiled on the NHS Website.
Staff information posters on our wards
Each ward in our hospitals now displays a “Staff Information” poster which shows the planned and actual number of staff (registered nurses / midwives and care staff staff) on each shift that day. They also show who is in charge of each shift and when the poster was last updated.
These posters are displayed on each ward where they can be clearly seen by patients, visitors and staff.
