If you are unwell and you need help, it’s important to know which service best suits your needs.

This winter, our Trust along with other health and care partners are back with an updated guide to help you ‘Think Which Service’ for the best care possible.

By choosing the right service, you’ll get the advice, support, and treatment you need even faster, so you can feel your best all season long.

You can visit NHS 111 online or call 111 if you need urgent medical help or consider visiting your local Minor Injury Unit in Bridgnorth, Ludlow, Oswestry and Whitchurch. These can provide rapid treatment for injuries and illnesses that don’t require emergency hospital care.

Despite the challenges, urgent and emergency care services at both the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford remain open for anyone who needs them. Please do continue to come forward.

Our Annual Recognition Week is underway at the Trust where we are celebrating the fantastic achievements of my colleagues.

On Monday, we presented Long Service Awards, where we celebrated the outstanding commitment and dedication of our valued colleagues who have achieved their 25 and 40-year service to the NHS.

We also said a huge thank you to our colleague Syliva Foster, an Ultrasound Manager, who has achieved a magnificent 50-year milestone.

Between them they have accumulated more than 1,665 years of service.

Yesterday (Tuesday) we recognised the fantastic contributions of our brilliant volunteers who truly make a difference to our patients, their loved ones, visitors and my colleagues.

We have about 300 volunteers across both sites with our oldest volunteer being 89! They contribute about 2,200 hours per month which is incredible.

They deal with everybody with kindness, care and compassion and their efforts are deeply appreciated.

Today (Wednesday) is a Learning and Development Celebration, where we recognised the fantastic achievements of more than 700 members of staff.

Certificates of recognition were handed out, including to those who had successfully completed nursing degrees and apprenticeships over the last 12 months.

We have had some wonderful entries for our children’s artwork competition – you have all been so creative, but there is still time to enter.

It’s a great opportunity for children and young people to draw, paint, colour, design what health and wellbeing means to them.

The winning artwork could take pride of place on a construction hoarding at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and as a feature wall near the main reception at Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.

The full competition brief and how to enter can be found below. The closing date for entries is Friday 15 November, and can be sent by post or digitally.

Groups and individuals are invited to take part. There are two categories: Children up to 10 years old and children and young adults aged 11-18.

Full details can be found on our website.
