You might meet some of these people when you come to hospital:
Anaesthetist
They help you to sleep and make sure you are ok when you are having an operation. They wear scrubs like a surgeon.
Dietician
You might see a Dietician if you have problems with eating and drinking. They wear a white uniform with blue bits.
Doctor
Doctors are trained to make people feel better and keep them healthy. They don’t usually wear a uniform.
Healthcare Assistant
They help the nurse look after you. They wear a green uniform with white bites.
Housekeeper
Housekeepers make sure the hospital is clean. They wear a pink uniform with white bits.
Matron
Matrons are in charge of lots of wards and departments. They wear a navy uniform with blue bits.
Nurse
Nurses are specially trained to look after people. They wear light blue uniforms with white bits.
Occupational Therapist
They help you to get used to doing everyday things like getting dressed after being ill. They wear a white uniform with green bits.
Pharmacist
Pharmacists get the medicine you need ready. They wear black uniforms with white bits.
Physiotherapist
You might see a Physiotherapist if you have problems moving around and keep active after being ill. They wear a white uniform with navy bits.
Play Specialist
Play Specialists can give you fun things to do while you are in hospital. They wear a polo shirt.
Porter
Porters take you where you need to go in the hospital. They wear a blue shirt.
Radiographer
They use special machines to look inside your body. They wear a white uniform with red bits.
Receptionist
Receptionists welcome you to the hospital and tell you what you need to do when you arrive.
Sister or Charge Nurse
They make sure the ward is running smoothly. They wear a navy uniform with white bits.
Specialist Nurse
Specialist Nurses are experts in certain illnesses. They wear dark blue uniforms with yellow bits.
Speech and Language Therapist
You might see a Speech and Language Therapist if you have problems with talking or swallowing. They wear a white uniform with light blue bits.
