Visiting restrictions
Ultrasound scans
- One birthing partner can attend 12 and 20 week scans
- One partner can attend EPAS scans
- Please note visiting restrictions for Antenatal appointments and other scans remain unchanged
The Delivery Suite
- One birth partner can attend and will be given a visiting wristband
Antenatal and Postnatal Wards
- Women can be accompanied by the same one birthing partner for induction of labour and or latent phase of labour to offer support (providing a side room is available).
- Visiting to our wards will be staggered and must be booked in advance
- Antenatal Ward 10.00hrs-12.00hrs
- Postnatal Ward 13.00hrs -15.00rs
- One birthing partner may visit the ward for one hour between the allocated times
- Under current Coronavirus (COVID-19) guidelines, children are not able to visit

Neonatal Unit
- Mothers, who have been discharged home, and a named partner may continue to visit independently, following the current guideline of one visit per day (with no time restriction) and one visitor per bed space at any one time
- In addition, mother and partner will now be able to visit together for one hour (with allocated times)
Fertility Services
- Scan and Nurse appointments:
- The partner can attend the pregnancy reassurance scan and the following Nurse consultation
- The partner must attend the Nurse consultation following baseline and day 11 scan to have a covid-19 swab
- Recovery:
- The partner or a nominated person may accompany the patient to the recovery area on the day of egg collection if they have had a negative covid-19 swab result at day 11 scan
- Embryo transfer:
- The partner may accompany the patient to the consultation with the Embryologist prior to transfer
- The partner may accompany the patient to the procedure room for embryo transfer if they have had a negative covid-19 swab at the day 11 scan for both fresh and frozen transfers
When you visit, please make sure you:
- Have a booked time to visit the ward/Neonatal unit. Your visiting time will be given to you upon admission. Please stick to the agreed timings.
- Wear a face covering. This will be provided to you on arrival at the hospital
- Observe social distancing at all times and wash/sanitise your hands regularly
- Do not visit if you have COVID-19 symptoms, including: high temperature, a new continuous cough, loss or change in sense of smell, loss or change in sense of taste
All other visiting restrictions remain in place until further notice
