Happy birthday, Gertrude!

Staff at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) have helped a patient to celebrate her 100th birthday.

Staff on AMU help Gertrude celebrate

When Gertrude Gibson, who lives near Oswestry, found herself in hospital on her big day, staff on the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) were determined that she would still be able to mark the occasion.

They decorated her bed with balloons and arranged for birthday cake to be brought to the unit,

Gertrude spent her birthday with her son and daughter-in-law.

Happy birthday, Gertrude!
