Nigel is a Healthcare Hero

A decorator who has dedicated 30 years to the NHS was named a regional winner at the recent Healthcare Heroes Awards.

Nigel Breeze, a skilled painter who works in the estates department at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH), was presented with his award by Casualty actress, Sunetra Sarker, at an afternoon tea-themed ceremony in London last month.

Organised by Skills for Health, the National Skills Academy for Health, nominees were sought in seven different categories, including the award won by Nigel – Operational Services Support Worker.

Dave Chan, Estates Manager at SaTH, said: “Nigel can turn his hand to almost anything and his positivity rubs off on everyone around him.”

John Rogers, Chief Executive at Skills for Health, said: “Our Health Heroes gets bigger and better each time and this year was no exception.”
