The following information is from our partners at Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)
The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) is hosting one of a series of drop-in sessions across Shropshire for patients and staff to share their views on community services.
The drop-in sessions are being organised as part of Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) review into existing community services including Minor Injury Units (MIU), Diagnostic, Assessment and Access to Rehabilitation and Treatment (DAART) services and Community Beds.
These services play a significant role in the out of hospital system and the clinical review will assess how the services are being used now, patient outcomes and experiences and what is needed to meet the challenges of an ageing population. The overall aim of the review is to create fair access and consistent outcomes for local people using these community services.
The CCG is organising these informal drop-in sessions to understand what is working well, what people like about these services, and what could be improved.
One of these will take place at RSH from 2pm today (Wednesday 25 October).
Dr Finola Lynch, a local GP and Shropshire CCG’s clinical lead for the community services review, said: “We’re encouraging patients and staff to share their views on community services at their nearest drop-in session. We want to hear local views on what is working well and how we can improve services for our communities.
“We want to develop consistent and fair services across Shropshire that importantly meet patients’ clinical needs now and in the future. Our review is in the early stages and this feedback will help us to improve and strengthen future services.”
Community drop-in sessions have been organised in the following locations:
- 25 October, 9am-12noon at Whitchurch Community Hospital
- 25 October, 2pm-4pm at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital
- 26 October, 10am-12noon at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital in Oswestry
- 26 October, 1pm-3pm Oswestry Medical Centre
